I have a distant male relative, 48 yrs old who has congenital blindness. On taking his history, I was told that he had a brother also with similar congenital blindness, (who left home long back), and had a nephew (sister's son) with similar disease (nephew expired in infancy). I was told that he cannot undergo cornea transplant for some vague reasons. Reports not available.
I would like to know suggestions as to what this blindness cause could be, and can we do anything about it? Does it looks hereditary? What tests should I ask them to do and how can we manage him well?
