Attending CMEs and presenting research in conferences are integral part of medical education. But with my little experience of attending CMEs and conferences, I have seen many of my friends can not make most out of the educational event just due to their hesitation to ask questions. When ask they come up with different reasons. Some says they simply hesitate that their question may not be up to the level of the eminent speaker and they fear to be identified by the speaker or the audience.
Some cite their inability to frame a question in words in that short time span. For some people, its just for earning some credit hours, not for updating the knowledge. My questions to my seniors and my peers is: Do you think hesitation to ask question is a major reason for not making most of a CMS for a young doctor?
