Introduction COVID-19 patients suffer from anxiety, mood dysregulation, and worsening of the existing mental illness due to various factors like prolonged hospitalization, financial losses, quarantine-related distress, xenophobia, and social stigma. According to a study published in The Lancet in 2020, 18% of the COVID-19 patients developed mental health issues like depression, anxiety or dementia, within three months of diagnosis. The risk of developing mental health issues doubled among COVID-19 infected patients compared to people who did not have COVID-19.
