Case presentation Despite rehabilitation, a 70-year-old man reported having problems with limping and limited range of motion in the operated hip joint. Patient medical history Investigations X-ray examination of the pelvis with the hip revealed a massive heterotopic ossification (Figure 3a). Angio-CT examination of the pelvis with 3D imaging assessed the morphology of the ossifications, the course of the neurovascular bundle, and their anatomical relations. The patient underwent surgical ossification resection.
Local radiotherapy of the ossification of the right hip joint with 6XMV photons at a dose of 7 Gy.
