A study of 118 cancer patients at McGill University Health Centre revealed that over half (58.5%) developed ocular complications during chemotherapy or radiotherapy, most commonly dry eye (34.8%) and cataracts (23.7%) . With breast and lung cancers accounting for the majority of cases, the findings emphasize that ocular toxicity is a frequent but under-recognized side effect of cancer treatment.
