In a study evaluating 45% carbamide peroxide office-type bleaching, both paste-type (3M Filtek Bulk-Fill) and flowable (Estelite Bulk-Fill Flow) composites showed a significant reduction in microhardness (p = .002) after bleaching. However, only 3M Filtek Bulk-Fill exhibited a statistically significant increase in surface roughness (p = .024) , suggesting greater susceptibility to bleaching-related surface alterations. These findings highlight that clinicians should avoid using 3M Filtek Bulk-Fill when high-concentration bleaching is anticipated , or consider replacing existing restorations post-bleaching to maintain esthetics and mechanical integrity.
