Violence against doctors and hospitals is at its peak. Recently, a hospital in Hyderabad was vandalized by 3 brothers who accused the hospital management and the doctors of medical negligence. The patient aged 45, suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment in the medical intensive care unit. Minutes later, her three sons thrashed the hospital properties and created a raucous.
Policemen were abused, pushed and beaten up when they tried to intervene and stop the relatives. “T he situation got out of hand when, soon after hearing about the cardiac arrest and noticing the CPR procedure, the patient’s elder son started shouting loudly and started vandalizing hospital property.
