In place of Atropine/ Glycopyrrolate, Hyoscine (Buscopan)  can be used as premedication in general anesthesia and in short GA procedures. In Spinal Anaesthesia, it can be used in place of Atropine, for bradycardia. Advantages : Very good Amnesia. Anxiolytic. Anticholinergic. Sedative.

Blocks vagal tone more effectively than Atropine. Reduces visceral pain. Reduces postoperative nausea, vomiting. Patients often ask, "is surgery over", when Hyoscine is used as premedication. What is your opinion?
