IMA Threatens Nationwide Strike Over Maharashtra's CCMP Registration Move

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has warned that it may launch a nationwide strike if the Maharashtra government does not withdraw its recent decision allowing BHMS graduates who have completed the Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP) to register with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC). In a representation addressed to the state's Chief Minister, the IMA described the August 3 government resolution as legally unsustainable and raised concerns that the move could blur professional boundaries, compromise established medical education standards, and create uncertainty regarding the scope of clinical practice.
