IMA has sent pointers to Union Health ministry in a charter of patients’ responsibilities. The charter covers the key aspects such as trust, respect, and cooperation with doctors. According to the draft put up by the ministry, dead bodies cannot be kept by hospital administration for payment disputes. While the charter recommendation states that patients or their relatives shouldn’t trouble doctors or hospital implying undue pressure of referencing over caste, creed, language or political influence.
According to IMA committee, Doctors should be looked up by patients and it is their responsibility to have confidence and trust on treatment prescribed to them.
