The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has raised various objections against the proposed Clinical Establishment Bill 2017 that holds doctors accountable for "offenses not committed by them". IMA has also decided to hold a protest on 14th of April by conducting a huge protest march against the bill. The IMA has written to the Governor of Bengal and has demanded a debate and deliberation on the proposed registration, regulation and transparency of Clinical Establishment Bill 2017 before it is passed.
The president of IMA explained that it was unanimously decided that IMA will oppose the bill and agreed on the need for modifications to the bill.
