Doctor has removed uterus of a lady while doing laparoscopy of this patient as it as a necessity observed by surgeon during laparoscopy but as patient was under anesthesia so she took consent from husband only. Even for laparoscopy husband consent was taken and even after removal of uterus, bilateral oophorectomies was also done, later on this procedure of sterility set mariatal discord among husband wife.
So the patient complained before MCI, MCI penalized doctor by removing her name from register for one year but she challenged this order before Allahbad High Court who ordered as follows:--- MCI has taken a lenient view in the matter by only imposing the punishment of removal of the name from the Medical Register for one year even though the Ethics Committee had made recommendations for three years.
