A female resident doctor was assaulted by an intoxicated patient and his family members at a Mumbai municipal hospital. The incident took place at 3:40 AM on Sunday. The intoxicated patient with bruises on his nose and lip was brought to the hospital by a group of relatives who were also drunk. After initial treatment was provided at the casualty ward, the patient was transferred to the ENT ward of the hospital for further examination. At the ENT ward, the on-duty female resident doctor reviewed his prescription before examining the patient.
She carefully removed the dressing to examine his ear for injuries.
