Laparoscopic colon resection is better in regards to postoperative pain, recovery, and hospital stay. After complete mobilization of the terminal ileum, cecum, ascending colon, and proximal transverse colon, an upper midline incision is made by extending the camera port incision along the midline. The terminal ileum and transverse colon are divided and the ileocolic anastomosis is constructed using standard open techniques in Intracorporeal Anastomosis.
