Competition would be good for better results or quality medical care service in the advancement of medical sciences and a healthy sign but if it swings towards unhealthy or vilifying the reputation or underestimate the creditability or status of a colleague should or not to be allowed in the medical profession, a question needs to be answered. In medical institutions, there's teaching faculty in various disciplines and medical students pursue the education in undergraduate and post graduate classes. If the faculty members get into a competition among themselves this would be better for quality teaching till it remains healthy but it could be harmful if becomes the unhealthy or leg-pulling type.
