It is an accepted fact that conception, parturition and post-natal periods are natural phenomena and physiological. The present increase in the number of LSCS is very disturbing and leading to much criticism. Whom should we attribute this factor either to the doctors or public. In this context, I request our learned doctors to show description in advising LSCS and not to do sections for relative indications which are trivial in nature.
Any surgery at any time carries certain amount of risk, even though every precaution is taken, at times with pathetic result. I had personally seen cases of sections done to satisfy the patients and their kith and kin. A national debate and medical audit may be the necessity of the day to curb this unhealthy development of increase in LSCS surgeries. Finally, I request the valuable suggestions from medical men in this regard.
