The complications posed by fibroids are largely managed by a combination of surgery and medications (gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRH), progestogens, etc.). Additionally, magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound surgery and uterine artery embolization are other techniques as well. However, both the options are responsible for adverse events too. Although the changes induced by the medical treatment are transient and status quo is restored, the search for the gold standard for fibroid management still goes on.
