Sebaceous cyst develops in the sebaceous glands in cutaneous tissue or dermal or in the skin of human body and skin is the largest organ as well as peritoneum with same surface diameter in the human body. For diagnosis of sebaceous cyst disease, cutaneous swelling always has punctum. This common entity sebaceous cyst is the disease due to blockade of its duct opened on outer surface of epidermis layer of skin. The blockage of duct of sebaceous gland can be due to deposit of cholesterol in the duct of sebaceous gland as cholesterol deposits are commonly seen in hypercholesteremia.
All sebaceous cyst disease patients should be screened for cholesterol levels in body. Is there any correlation between sebaceous cyst and hypercholesteremia? Kindly suggest.
