Lot many doctors say that one has to write down the consent in his own hand-writing with a pen while taking the consent. I argue with them - why not well described printed informed consent is sufficient enough? I think law suggest " informed consent" not the "written consent". Because of misunderstanding related to this, some doctors are taking "blank paper consent" where they later write down according to their own wish, which is totally wrong.

So what is your opinion? What does the Indian law tell regarding "written" versus "informed " consent?
