Dear friends, Has anyone noticed that the no. of conferences have gone up in any given speciality and so have the registration fee. It is exorbitant nowadays. Now that we all know that most of the events the scientific sessions, food and name anything it is being taken care of by pharma companies and there is no way anyone can justify the registration costs. Also  the no.

of conferences in diabetes you have one by state RSSDI, one central RSSDI which is acceptable and 3 or 4 by local popular endocrinologists or diabetes practitioners all sponsored by pharma companies. I sometimes wonder about the actual intentions behind these parallel conferences, are they purely academic? Or there is something more to it. Can somebody throw some light on this subject?
