Laparoscopic surgery has its limitation while performing complex minimally invasive operations. Robotic surgery was developed to overcome such technical limitations. It is still a question whether robotic surgery is better than conventional laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic colorectal surgery has been proven safe and effective for both benign and malignant colorectal disease.
