Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a most common sleep disorder. It is characterized by repetitive episodes of upper airway obstruction that occur during sleep, usually associated with a reduction in blood oxygen saturation. OSA is more common among the asthma patients. However, the association of asthma with sleep apnea was unknown. The new study suggests that asthma is associated with increased risk of new onset of OSA.
