Chronic renal failure, last stage of cancer, severe diabetes, etc have something called as non-reversible stages. An Admission to hospital will end up with the patient being in ventilator or ICU for some days. What is the advantage of treating such cases where the outcome is poor.

Why not give them support treatment only rather than punishing the patient with ventilator support. I feel the aspect of critical care and support management has to go through a counsellor.
