Laryngeal carcinomas are among the most common forms of cancer in the head and neck. Around 43% of people are diagnosed in an advanced state and are difficult to manage, with a 5% prognosis rate. The treatment of such advanced cancers includes total laryngectomy with or without neck dissection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of both. In addition, advanced lesions are associated with an increased mortality rate, so it becomes essential to understand cancer and its pathophysiology.
