Maharashtra’s medical education department has withdrawn its August 18 freeze on registrations of homeopaths with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC), reversing its earlier decision to keep the process on hold pending the final court order. The department had paused the registrations on August 18, taking into account concerns raised by the medical community over the potential danger to public health. The registrations allow homeopaths who have completed a one-year Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP) to prescribe modern medicines, including complex modern medicines.

The latest letter cited the minutes of a meeting held on July 28 as the basis for cancelling the earlier August 18 letter.
