A 35-year-old restaurant cook, under the influence of drugs, attacked a doctor at a private hospital in Bettadasanapura, Bengaluru urban district. The accused, originally from Nepal, was brought to the hospital by police after being detained for causing a public disturbance. The incident began when the man, impaired by drugs , injured himself by banging his head against a car, prompting the police to escort him to the hospital for treatment. After being admitted as an in-patient, the police left the hospital, leaving the staff to attend to his injuries .
While two nurses tried to dress his wounds and administer IV fluids, the accused became aggressive and vandalized the room.
