A term newborn of 2560 grams is admitted within 4 hours of birth with a heart rate of 200/minute, cold extremities, and capillary fill time of 4 seconds. The baby is shifted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Oxygen and other resuscitative measures are started.

On asking about the history from the relatives, it is revealed that the neonate was born by LSCS done for placenta previa, and the mother had come with severe bleeding per vaginum to the hospital. The baby was referred to the NICU after birth.
