I want to know the status of use of Streptokinase and TPA in the case of Acute MI? Why the doctors do not discuss the use of above medicines in a case of acute MI and prefer to go for Angioplasty as a first choice? In a periphery - where the facility for angioplasty is not available - Should the doctor not use the above medicines as first line of therapy based on ECG findings alone?
Will it not be a better option to use the medicines in an area - where reaching the referral hospital may take more than 6 hours and the patient may be caught in a traffic jam? The experience of Cardiologists on this panel - regarding Angioplasty Vs use of clot dissolving agents - the complication rate and final outcomes.
