Though bariatric surgery (BS) is effective for treating obesity, understanding and tackling inadequate weight loss (IWL) after BS needs special attention; therefore, enhanced knowledge of the preoperative predictors of IWL helps identify patients at potential risk. A better understanding of the effectiveness and safety of the dietary, pharmacologic, behavioral, Β and surgical prevention and management strategies will assist in mitigating such problems. Studies reveal that one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is more successful than Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) for IWL. Additionally, the procedure time of OAGB is shorter, with lower complication rates up to thirty days after surgery.
