Assault on Colleagues Leads to Mass Resignation of 35 Doctors 35 doctors at Madhya Pradesh government Hospital (Tikamgarh district) saw two of their colleagues brutally attacked and now have made submission of mass resignation. The incident occurred on August 16, 2017 when an elderly woman who died at the hospitals attendants assaulted doctors. A complaint was filed with the police, but the FIR was put under sections 323 and 324 (Voluntarily Causing Hurt and the same by Dangerous Weapons).

The doctors are demanding that the Doctors Protection Act be enforced and a three day ultimatum to the management of the hospital has been put forth for the arrest of the assailants under sections 353 of IPC (criminal force/assault to deter duty of discharge of public servants and the Doctors Protection Act. What would you suggest to avoid such situations?
