If there are violations of MCI Ethics Regulations, the concerned doctor should bring it to the knowledge of the state council. Regulation 1.7 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, reads as follows: “1.7 Exposure of Unethical Conduct: A Physician should expose, without fear or favour, incompetent or corrupt, dishonest or unethical conduct on the part of members of the profession.” MCI 3.1.2: Consulting pathologists/radiologists or asking for any other diagnostic Lab investigation should be done judiciously and not in a routine manner.
