The Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to lodge a criminal case against those involved in circulating the fake notification on counselling for PG medical seats and also cautioned students against falling prey against these notices. In this regard, the Medical Education Minister had convened a meeting with representatives of private college managements to discuss common counselling. The representatives of several institutions produced a notification which talked of further amendments to the regulations governing PG medical education.
It also stated that the institutions and concerned universities were allowed to conduct counselling for NRI and management quota seats.
