In order to increase the contribution of private sector in the field of Medical education, the MCI-Board of Governors (BOG) has made a way for Private Companies and Consortium to set up Medical Colleges . Following are the conditions for making an application : A Consortium must have 2 or 4 eligible organisations, must enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The proposed land for the medical college should be owned by the consortium members.

The leader of the consortium will be the point of contact The decision is based on an amendment to the ‘Establishment of Medical College Regulations, 1999’ , where private sectors are invited for greater participation to establish medical colleges.
