IT has made inroads into almost every domain to ensure greater convenience/safety/accuracy/availability/cost saving. Today we can book a ticket to any part of the world,  check our bank balances, transfer money instantly, buy goods and more - any time, all from the convenience of our desktop. Clinicians have been doing a great job of treating the sick but are slowly being overcome by a deluge of medical information that they need to read to remain current.
