Diwali (Festival of Light) symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali festival is not complete without firecrackers and fireworks. Unfortunately, so are eye injuries and many such cases (mostly children) losing their sight due to fire-cracker related eye injuries occurred during the festival of light. There is also an increasing concern over environmental pollution, noise pollution, and the safety issues involved in making and bursting firecrackers.
