Recently after the strike on 2 nd April by IMA against the NMC bill it was observed that the core problems still remained the same. A few changes were made in the NMC bill after the strike, but these changes have not pleased the IMA doctors. According to them, negligible variations are done by the government and the core issues like ‘crosspathy’ and private medical colleges decision on the fee structure remain the same with no changes. On this, the IMA president said, “If the Bill is passed, we will have no choice but to withdraw our services,” (The Hindu).
Because these few changes in the bill makes no difference even after the protest. The NMC bill is drafted to replace the existing Medical Council of India Act governed by MCI. The MCI after being alleged of corruption the government intended to make a new council. But the entire idea of making this NMC bill seems to be imprecise.…
