The Justice Verma committee constituted after Nirbhaya gangrape recommended to form the one-stop centres. Soon AIIMS will start the National One Stop Centre for survivors of sexual assault. The centre will provide quick evidence processing and criminal identification information to the police and importantly handle the examination of a traumatized survivor in a dignified manner.
This will ensure justice as doctors having expertise in medicolegal cases and evidence collection will handle these cases. Source: IndiaToday
