The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently adjudicated a long-standing medical negligence dispute arising from treatment provided at an eye optical centre in Shrawasti, Uttar Pradesh. The matter stemmed from events that began in June 2010, when a man noticed redness in his left eye and sought treatment at a local eye health and optical centre. According to the complainant, he visited the centre on 10.06.2010. After examining his eye, the practitioner allegedly administered medicines, applied treatment locally, and issued a handwritten prescription for oral medicines and eye drops.
