Neurosonography studies of the brain in neonates and infants provides ample benefits. However, performing such studies require valid medical reason. Infant, for performing this procedure, is one whose anterior fontanelle remains open. The indications for performing neurosonography in infants and neonates are: Hemorrhage or parenchymal abnormalities in preterm and term infants.
