India has recorded encouraging progress in child health and nutrition, according to the National Family Health Survey-6 (NFHS-6). Full vaccination coverage among children aged 12β23 months increased from 83.8% in NFHS-5 (2019β21) to 87.1% in 2023β24, reflecting continued advancement toward universal immunization. Public health facilities remained the primary source of vaccination services across the country. The survey also revealed substantial improvements in child nutrition outcomes. Stunting among children under five years declined from 35.5% to 29.3%, while severe wasting dropped from 7.7% to 5.2%.
