In very early stages of Parkinson's disease at times its very difficult to distinguish between typical PD from atypical PD's like PSP,MSA and CBGD,where prognosis is very bad compared to PD .March1 issue of Neurology discusses about serum and CSF levels neurfilament light chain levels are increased in atypical PD. Will it be that much easy to differentiate between this two groups with such a biomatker in early stages?
