At SRN Hospital in Prayagraj, a multidisciplinary team recently achieved a notable surgical milestone by treating a rare jaw tumor in a nine-year-old patient. The child had been dealing with progressive facial swelling and ongoing pain on the left side of his face for almost a year, prompting referral for specialized care. The patient was evaluated in the cancer surgery unit in late December 2025, where investigations revealed ameloblastoma involving the left mandible.
Although benign, this tumor is rarely seen in children and carries a high risk of facial asymmetry and functional impairment if intervention is delayed.
