A rare and deadly Nipah virus has sparked fear all over India. As per current updates, a soldier has died in Kolkata of suspected Nipah virus infection. This was confirmed after his body fluids were sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. The NIV is the only agency in the country to certify Nipah virus infection. Adding to the Nipah scare, three other suspected cases have been reported in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
