Non-Alcoholic Fatty liver Disease (NAFLD) is one of the leading causes of liver disease worldwide. More than 50% of patients with T2DM are often estimated to have NAFLD. Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the most severe form of NAFLD which in-turn progresses into cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Recent clinical trials have hinted upon the use of Pegbelfermin, a PEGylated human fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF 21) for the treatment of NASH.

Thus, the aim of this article was to provide an overview of all clinical trials conducted on Pegbelfermin and get insight from our community regarding its clinical transition.
