Nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) is as oncologically safe as skin-sparing mastectomies (SSMs) or modified radical mastectomies (MRMs) in carefully selected women with early-stage breast cancer, a meta-analysis concludes. The findings were presented at the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBS) 16th Annual Meeting, in Orlando, Florida, and were highlighted at a press briefing.
