Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a public health concern due to its long-term implications on mothers and infants. Every year, around 2-5% of pregnant women develop GDM, and the number may increase to 7-9%, including mothers with risk factors. Although pharmacological interventions may improve GDM, they are not sustainable. Hence, the first line of treatment should be lifestyle interventions since GDM is directly linked to adverse lifestyles.
