It would be out of proposition to compare between old and new ophthalmologists both did well in their respective fields. It would be out of context to say that present-day ophthalmologists are far better than old or vice-versa. Some 40 to 50 years back ophthalmologists had just a torch a magnifying loop trail set trail frame and an ophthalmoscope surgery was done by naked eye or a loop no IOL cataract surgery was done by making a corneoscleral section 180 degrees by VG cataract knife and removal of lens by aruga or vectors or erysophake. Refraction was done by a plane mirror after dilating pupils by mydriatic and glasses were prescribed after 24 hours with the passage of time.
Recent advances took place and at present times, we have most recent subspecialties and instruments. There is only one sentence to say that both old and new are good. What is your opinion?
