Omega 3 fatty acids have been found beneficial for patients with cardiac risks. Now a new study suggests that if people with high-risk of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) take omega 3 supplements, it can reduce the chances of disease onset. RA is a systematic inflammatory disease affecting the joints in the body. Generally present in the synovial membrane, RA can also affect other organs. Patients with RA are prone to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
Common symptoms of RA include pain, swelling and redness of the inflamed joints which can further lead to bone erosion. The scientists from the USA conducted a multicenter study of etiology.
