Some days back a lady Doctor was taken into custody by the police from my city on a patient complaint. An FIR was launched within an hour.

The doctor was released after 8 hours, and the police were not interested in listening anything. My question is: On which ground/s can the Police take a doctor in their custody from a running Hospital/Clinic?
