When patients experience intractable pain for several difficult years, they want a solution to their pain — an end to it. But in many cases, there is no a cure. Physicians can not make the pain go away. Hence, the patient- doctor discussions are focused on pain management and coping with them. However, some people fail in coping with the pain and become dependent or addicted to opioids.
When these opioids are not made available to them they try to consume them without proper guidance or illicitly. How can the physicians try and manage to reduce the pain, although they cannot rid the patients of their pain?
